Marilyn made the ceremonial first kick in a soccer match between America and Israel, held at Ebbets Field, New York, on May 12, 1957. Unfortunately, she kicked the soccer ball so hard in open-toed shoes that she sprained two toes. This injury, however, did not prevent her form staying on until the end of the match, and then presenting the trophy to the winning captain.
